web in the rain

the day crept up on me like a spider from the sky

it built its web over my face and sat still statue over my eyes

a blur of habit stilled my progression

a cycle of being that still cycled when I wasn’t seeing

where was wisdom when worry wandered your way

where was worry when wisdom wandered away

what was wasted when worry met wisdom

This day is a spider that built its web on my face

as I watch the rain in wonder

and think of good food and comfort like home is where

nerves forget their place and feet sit barefoot crosslegged

in a public place eating messy curry with your hands and asking for

dispensing those small thoughts tucked away in the corners of your mind

and unroll those lame jokes created two seconds before thought in laughter

that makes you cry

let this web on my face catch life again and kill the demons tattooed on me
