Be outside of yourself

notice the blink of an eye the

haunch of shoulder blade that twist of face

those darting pupils that shifting elbow those

breaking knees that stomping step that twitch

that raises your nose towards the air just a little bit

notice the sharpness of your voice 

notice that you fidget a lot and shift your feet

and your shallow breaths that sometimes escalate into

panic attacks notice that you can’t breath when a thousand

thoughts rage in chaotic symphony and that you can’t think when you 

can’t breath and that you can’t write when you can think notice the need

to meditate, for a moment, for five minutes.
