broken

I wish I was

so that the truths that fall on me

like concrete

break upon the many pieces of

my being

so that, instead of a hurtful thudud

it would shine in the million-rainbowed

dewdrops of insignificant bliss

when expectations bark

into a wall and it crumbles like

the misplaced trust, so here,

take my heart I’ve had enough of it,

put it somewhere nice

keep it in a box

place it on a table

watch it beat

watch it beat

watch it beat
